CARLISLE CULLEN.
everyone is safe. that’s carlisle’s first thought, the first breath of relief now
that they’re all home. everyone is safe. alice and edward and bella. no one
was hurt and they’re all alive, and carlisle thinks possibly if vampires were
able to cry, he’d have a few tears in his eyes. after the drama of everything
finally secedes, he takes a moment to find bella alone. he knows how the
volturi can be, and while he can tell that PHYSICALLY she’s alright, he
thinks it might be best to check up on her anyway. it’s not difficult to pick
her out from everyone else in the household and he finds her easily, sitting
alone and contemplative in the library.❝ bella? ❞ he says softly from the doorway. ❝ may i come in? ❞
the least she can be is grateful, for being given a moment alone. though she’s quick to begin questioning why she’s still here, in this house, around these people – her heart swells with an inconceivable amount of emotion, and she’s only begin to work through the downpour of it all. of course she loved edward, and every bit of his family. but having them back, having edward tell her his claims had been lies meant to deter her – it seems to have changed nothing in her head. but apart from all of that, she now had yet another enemy on the table, more choices to make, plans to work out. and in the back of her mind, she swears she can hear the distant echoing of crowds screaming – as if they’d followed her from the tunnels in volterra. knees against her chest, arms wrapped round, trying to make herself as small as possible; she barely notices carlisle calling to her. blinking herself back to ground zero, she murmurs, looking over to him. ❛ – sorry.. yeah, sure. ❜ but she isn’t sure there is much grace to carry in any conversation with the father figure, now; she’s on the brink of imploding, despite the looming quiet demeanor. she isn’t sure where to start, so she figures she’ll let him do it.
