MYSTIC FALLS REMINDED HER ALL TOO MUCH OF FORKS; small and supernatural-invested, but somehow it fell as one of her only viable options if she was insistent on getting out of forks. none of it was worth looking back on, and she tried to force herself to function in some type of ignorant bliss; forgetting that dozens of vampires were just killed in her name, forgetting that an entire powerful coven wanted her dead, and forgetting that her vampire ex-boyfriend sent her to live with more vampires because there was this belief that she simply had no chance, no capability, in protecting her own self. while she can’t deny just how correct he is, she sure as hell can be bitter about it – and ignore it. luckily, stefan salvatore was kind and patient enough with her to come around before she warmed up enough to him, but she surely didn’t deem him a confidant.
bella swan trying to forget all these things, though, was a seemingly baseless wish; her mind was constantly occupied on the troubles she’d caused, and it was unconditionally haunted by the idea that she could do nothing about it. nothing! and it was ironic, because in the process of learning to accept that fact, something of a solution pulled through. stefan tried to keep her out of whatever supernatural shenanigans that he engaged in, but he gave her the benefit of the doubt, and gave her updates on things she may need to know. from who was what thing to who was lingering now in the town of mystic falls, and that was how the conversation begun of one klaus mikaelson. ‘ virtually indestructible, ‘ stefan had said. and what more could sell her on the idea that was forming in her head? an original vampire with immense capabilities, just around town? of course, she heeds stefan’s warnings – but decidedly, what more does she have to fear? with where she is now, perhaps her recklessness has reached it’s ultimate peak, but who knows? maybe it’ll take her places.
it’s painfully ironic how many times she ends up in places she’s told not to go, but here she is now – with an agenda, a boatload of insecurities, and a preparedness to be insistent until death do her part – at the home-front of this original vampire. of course now, she feels heavyhearted in her task, but it comes as she’s already face-to-face with what she came here to do; knocking on this door. she holds her wrists behind her back, practicing something of a speech in her head.
